You are about to play a board game. Select two green circles with letters on them and call them your settlements. Every other player in the game also gets to pick two green circles and it could be the same as your settlements. Then every player rolls two dice. The sum of the dice in each round determine which red squares have points in that round. If you have selected a settlement that is adjacent to that square, you collect its point.
Let's say you have picked M and Y for your settlements. You roll two dice and get a sum of 6. You gain 1 point for M (adjacent to one square with 6) but no points for Y as it is not adjacent to any square with number 6 on it.
How would you decide which circles to pick as your settlements?
We will play this game in class on Thursday. Beforehand, please decide which green circles are the best to pick as settlements that may lead you win the game after a few rounds of playing.
