Bio in 2022: Data Scientist at Urbint with focus on the application of Machine Learning (ML) for damage prevention. During his PhD studies at the University of Western Ontario (UWO), he conducted research on the realization of the Intelligent Automation Networking paradigm by leveraging novel ML models and was a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. Cesar also has experience as a university lecturer, consultant, and network engineer for over 12 years. He served as the VP External of the Graduate Engineering Society at UWO (2018-2019), the Vice-Chair of the Young Professionals Affinity Group of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), London Section, Canada (2019-2020), and the Vice-Chair of the IEEE Computer Society, London Chapter (2020-2021).

Bio in 2022: Applied Scientist at Amazon using machine learning to prevent fraud in retail transactions. Prior to joining Amazon, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Civil Engineering Department at Columbia University, where he developed and implemented numerical algorithms for solving the wave propagation equation in poro-elastic media, and for solution of the phase field fracture propagation equation. He also worked at ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company as a research intern, where he helped to develop new technologies to prevent failure of casings during the process of extracting hydrocarbons from the ground. He earned a PhD in Petroleum Engineering and a Masters in Applied Mathematics from Louisiana State University.

Bio in 2022: Data Scientist at Jam City. Golnoosh received her Ph.D. in astrophysics from West Virginia University, where she has developed large radio transient surveys in collaboration with astronomers at UC Berkeley. During her Ph.D., she has taught undergraduate-level physics courses and provided regular feedback to 500+ students relative to their performance. She was also an ambassador of the West Virginia Science Public Outreach Team (SPOT), with a mission of bringing STEM presentations to West Virginia K-12 classrooms, museums, and youth programs. After Ph.D., she started the next chapter in her career as a Data Scientist, where she can pair her analytical mindset from observing extraterrestrial signals and her digital enthusiasm and translate data points into business insights and drive product excellence.

Bio in 2022: Dr. Jon Roberts oversees the health media properties at Dotdash. He has been with Dotdash since 2013 and previously held roles as Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Data Science, where he derived insights from more than 20 years of Internet data across thousands of topics. Most recently he was the President of Dotdash Finance overseeing strategy for Investopedia and The Balance. Prior to joining Dotdash, Jon spent 10 years as a theoretical physicist focused on making dark matter predictions for the hadron collider at CERN, and cosmic ray predictions for the AMS detector on the International Space Station. He also worked on the Pierre Auger telescope in Argentina.

Dr. Roberts received his Ph.D at the University of Southampton and his M.A. from the University of Oxford.

Bio in 2022:  Scientist at Biogen based in Durham. Hossein specializes in pharmaceutical drug development and works with engineers and scientists to identify process needs and apply innovative solutions such as smart sensors. Before joining Biogen, he received his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University where he explored polymers for power cables and fabricated capacitors for the Internet of Things. He also finished his undergraduate studies in Mechanical Engineering focusing on complex fluids such as ketchup and paints. He has years of experience teaching engineering, physics, and math courses to undergraduate students. Besides science, Hossein enjoys rock climbing, running, and improv comedy.

Bio in 2022: Resident Solutions Architect at Databricks. Nick currently helps enterprises architect their big data solutions in the three major public clouds. He specializes in designing data engineering, data science, and MLOps solutions at scale. Previously, Nick earned his Ph.D. in astroparticle physics from Penn State University where he researched very-high-energy transients and taught introductory and advanced physics.

Bio in 2022: Physicist and Data Science Trainer. For the last three years he has taught over sixty data science and programming classes to repeat clients, including NASA and the CDC, large banks and financial institutions, two of the 'Big Four' consulting companies. Ra did his PhD on "The Acoustics of the Steel-string Guitar" before obtaining a patent on putting off termites eating wood by using their own vibratory communication signals. Being interested in signal processing and data analysis, he joined the LIGO scientific collaboration to analyze "Acoustics in Space," specializing in searching for the constant hum given off by rotating neutron stars. Ra enjoys playing guitar and, unfortunately, also likes fountain pens and mechanical keyboards.

Bio in 2022: A startup COO and a strength coach.  As a COO at evrmore, an AI-powered platform for GenZ to help them navigate life, build core skills and resilience, she focuses on business development and research. As a strength coach, she helps to unlock personal growth, reach full potential, and achieve fulfillment.  Inna has over 20 years of experience in senior leadership positions in finance.  She has a Masters of Psychology from Harvard and an MBA from Stern NYU.
